Clover hay is a high-fiber, sweet-smelling hay that is a good source of protein and energy for horses and other grazing animals. Very popular in past years is has sort of gone out of style as customers increasingly use Alfalfa. The hay is sweet smelling and has a high fiber texture with a test of around 13% protein. Some old school horse trainers prefer to feed this to race horses with very good results. Clover hay naturally has an emerald green/brown look to it so don’t be fooled by its appearance.
